A musculoskeletal assessment is a thorough clinical examination of your muscles, joints, tendons, and movement patterns.
It’s how we identify what’s driving your pain or injury, explain it clearly, and put a treatment plan in place.
Every patient at Far North Physiotherapy starts with one.
At your first appointment, your physiotherapist will take a detailed history and then assess the relevant structures and movements. Depending on your presentation, this may include:
At the end of your assessment, you’ll have a clear diagnosis, an understanding of what’s driving your symptoms, and a plan for what comes next. No guesswork, no vague advice.
No referral is needed. You can book directly.
Most initial appointments are 30 minutes. If you’d like more than one problem area assessed, we recommend booking a 60-minute consultation so there’s enough time to assess everything properly and talk you through the findings and plan.
No. You can book directly without a GP referral. If you’re coming under a GP management plan, WorkCover, or NDIS, contact us and we’ll advise on the process.
Bring anything relevant to your condition, such as referral letters, imaging or scan reports, hospital or specialist reports, a current medication list, and your Medicare, DVA or private health fund card. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being assessed. If you don’t have any reports, that’s fine. We work from your history and examination findings.
If you want a clear picture of what’s going on and a plan to address it, book your assessment at Far North Physiotherapy. No referral needed.
